PAUL SIMPSON, CD (MBA) – FOUNDER, PRESIDENT & CEO  

Paul Simpson, CD (MBA), is the Founder is the President, and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Simpson is a seasoned investment banker and entrepreneur with nearly two decades of experience in business development, capital formation, mergers and acquisitions, and the scaling of financial services platforms across the Caribbean, and international markets.

The Cornerstone platform, founded and led by Mr. Simpson, today strategically partners and oversee assets under management in excess of US$6 billion across banking, investment banking, real estate, asset and wealth management, and principal investment activities. Since inception, he has spearheaded the successful fundraising of well over US$700 million in capital across multiple layers of the platform, supporting acquisitions, balance-sheet growth, and the expansion of operating businesses. Under his leadership, Cornerstone has completed four portfolio company acquisitions and founded two additional businesses, intentionally assembling a diversified and scalable financial services group.

Mr. Simpson is widely recognized for his ability to originate transactions, build high-performing teams, and guide businesses from inception through full commercialization and maturity, delivering material growth in assets under management, revenues, profitability, and shareholders’ equity. Beyond his commercial achievements, he remains committed to national development and philanthropy, with a focus on education, financial inclusion, and community empowerment.

In recognition of his service to the banking and finance industries in Jamaica, Mr. Simpson was awarded the Order of Distinction in the rank of Commander (CD) in 2024 by the Government of Jamaica. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in Computer Science and Geology, and a Master of Business Administration in General Management from the University of the West Indies.

JASON CHAMBERS (MSc.) – CHIEF INVESTMENT OFFICER, CORNERSTONE

Jason has over 19 years of experience, spanning the range of securities trading, investment and treasury management, corporate finance, and corporate banking. Most recently, Jason held the position of Vice President of Investment Management at GraceKennedy Group. Jason also headed the Corporate Banking Unit within First Global Bank Limited and was also a member of senior management teams of the security dealing subsidiaries of the Guardian Holdings and GraceKennedy. Jason is a graduate of the University of the West Indies, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics, he also obtained a Master of Science degree from the University of London.

DANE BRODBER (CFA, CAIA, FRM, MBA) – ACTING CEO, BMB AND CEO DESIGNATE, BFGL

Dane has over 17 years of experience in the financial services industry with extensive experience in Market Risk Management, as well as experience with Strategy, Business Intelligence, and Financial Analysis. Most recently, Dane held the position of Regional Director, Market Risk Management at Scotiabank, where he had the responsibility for the measurement, monitoring and governance of market risk exposures throughout the English-speaking Caribbean. Dane earned undergraduate degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Economics and Business from Lafayette College and an MBA from the University of New Orleans. He earned the CFA charter in 2006, the Financial Risk Manager (FRM) designation in 2007, and the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation in 2019. Dane is the founding Vice President of CFA Society of Jamaica and has been a CFA exam tutor at B&B University College since 2010 in the area of Corporate Finance, Derivatives, and Quantitative Methods.

BERNHARD STOCKER, CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER, REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENT AT CFHL USA

Bernard Stocker is a global real estate and development executive with more than two decades of experience leading complex residential, hospitality, and mixed-use developments across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and North America. He currently serves as Chief Executive Officer, Real Estate Development at CFHL USA, where he is responsible for setting and executing the platform’s real estate development strategy, with a focus on transformative hospitality and large-scale mixed-use projects that deliver long-term value for investors and communities.

Trained as an architect, Bernard holds a Master of Science in Architecture from the Vienna University of Technology and has completed executive education in C-Suite Leadership at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He began his career working with internationally renowned, Pritzker Prize–winning architects including Hans Hollein and Richard Meier, before advancing into senior design leadership roles at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) and the Office for Design and Architecture (ODA) in New York. Bernard subsequently transitioned to developer-side leadership, holding senior roles at some of the most respected real estate platforms globally. His experience includes serving as Senior Vice President of Design and Construction at The Related Companies in New York City, Project Executive at RAL Companies, and Design Director for MAGNA at NEOM in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. At NEOM, he led the design and delivery of large-scale hospitality and residential developments along the Gulf of Aqaba, contributing to landmark projects aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. Across his career, Bernard has developed a reputation for integrating design excellence with disciplined execution, sustainability, and commercial rigor. He is deeply engaged in the role of the built environment as a driver of economic productivity, environmental responsibility, and human well-being, and is particularly interested in how design, policy, capital, and technology can align to create places that are resilient, culturally meaningful, and economically durable. He is a LEED Accredited Professional and an active member of leading professional and industry networks supporting real estate, design, and development decision-making.

STEFANO D’AMBROSIO, DIRECTOR, DIGITAL STRATEGY & INNOVATION

An entrepreneur with over 10 years’ experience translating business needs to tangible technological solutions, Stefano is leading innovation efforts at CTMB. He is a former CTO in FinTech start-ups and a Director for Digital Channels solutions for the Financial Services Industry. Stefano holds an MBA from Kellogg School of Management and a BSc. in Computer Engineering from Universidad Simón Bolivar.

 

STEPHANIE STERLING (LLB, LEC, LLM) – GROUP HEAD OF LEGAL AND COMPANY SECRETARY

Stephanie joined Barita in March 2020 as Legal Counsel and is now Group Head of Legal and Company Secretary. Prior to being called to the Bar, Stephanie gained financial advisory experience as a Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers and garnered commercial law experience as an Attorney-at-Law at Myers, Fletcher, & Gordon and Debbie-Ann Gordon & Associates. She holds a BA (Economics and History) from Stanford University, an LLB (Hons) from the University of London, and an LEC from the Norman Manley Law School.  Stephanie has also obtained a Master of Laws (Banking and Finance Law) (Merit) from the University of London.

STEPHEN PHILLIBERT (MBA, CFA) – CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER, CORNERSTONE

Stephen has recently joined Cornerstone as Chief Financial Officer. In this capacity he is responsible for the financial operations of the group, including financial reporting in accordance with regulatory requirements, capital and operational budgeting, tax management and financial controls. Stephens provides support on projects of strategic significance. Prior to joining the group, Stephen held a number of senior roles during a combined tenure of approximately 16 years with two well-known Jamaican corporate entities, primarily in the areas of finance, strategy and mergers & acquisitions. He holds an MBA from the University of Toronto as well as the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

ROBERT DRUMMOND (MBA) – MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT, CORNERSTONE

Mr. Drummond is a business executive and management consultant with over 30 years of experience leading and advising organizations through major strategic transformations in a range of industries, including financial services. He has held executive appointments at prominent companies in Jamaica and the US, including First Global Financial Services, GraceKennedy, NIKE, American Express and ITT Sheraton. Recognized as a strategy implementation specialist, Robert has contributed significantly through his research and publications on a range of topics including “Managing Resistance to Change” and “Organizational Turnarounds”. He holds an MBA degree from the Harvard Business School.

RAMON SMALL-FERGUSON, (CFA, FRM, CAIA, MSc) – CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER, BARITA INVESTMENTS LIMITED AND MANAGING DIRECTOR, BARITA UNIT TRUSTS MANAGEMENT COMPANY LIMITED

Ramon Small-Ferguson is the Chief Executive Officer of Barita Investments Limited and Managing Director of Barita Unit Trusts Management Company Limited, where he leads the strategic direction, growth, and governance of one of Jamaica’s leading investment management and securities firms. His leadership spans capital markets, asset and wealth management, investment banking and strategic management.

Prior to joining the Cornerstone Group and Barita, Mr. Small-Ferguson served at the Jamaica National Group, where he was Chief Investment Strategist and Head of Research at the Group’s investment subsidiary. His professional background encompasses Investment Research, Treasury and Portfolio Management, and Investment Banking, with extensive experience advising institutional investors, corporates, and public-sector stakeholders on capital allocation, risk management, and long-term value creation.

Mr. Small-Ferguson is also an active contributor to national governance and market development. He was appointed a Senator in the Upper House of the Parliament of Jamaica in September 2025, and currently serves as President of the Jamaica Securities Dealers Association. In addition, he sits on the Investment Advisory Board of the Salvation Army Caribbean Territory, serves as a Director and Chairman of the Audit and Compliance Committee of the Council of Voluntary & Social Services, and is an Alternate Director of the Jamaica Stock Exchange. Mr. Small-Ferguson holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA), and Financial Risk Manager (FRM) designations. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) in Finance and Marketing from the University of Technology, Jamaica, and has a Master of Science in Quantitative Management from NYU Stern Business School.

SEBRENA FREEMAN, (BA-HONS., MSc) – CHIEF AUDIT EXECUTIVE

Sebrena is an experienced Financial Services Enterprise Risk professional with a background in Operational & Non-financial Risk and Internal Auditing. She is formerly of Scotiabank where she served as Director Operational Risk, Caribbean. She earned her Msc. in Enterprise Risk Management from Mona School of Business and Management and a BBA, in Finance, International Business from the University of Technology. Sebrena reports directly to the Group’s Board of Directors.

GEOFFERY ROMANS, CHIEF RISK OFFICER

Geoffery is a Senior Risk Management executive with over 10 years risk management experience within the Caribbean Region. His vast risk management experience spanned banking, insurance, treasury operations, off-shore banking and investment for multiple entities. He is formerly from the Bank of Nova Scotia Jamaica Limited and a founding member of Scotiabank English Caribbean Market Risk Unit where he served in varying roles such as Senior Manager Interest Rate Risk and Balance Sheet Management and most recently, Regional Director, Market Risk Management. He earned his MBA in Financial Management Specialty from Heriot-Watt University, Scotland, UK and his BSc in Mathematics (1st Class Hons) from the University of the West Indies.
